MortgageThis privacy policy explains what information MortgageMouse collects, how it's used, and your rights around that data. We've tried to write this in plain English instead of legal jargon.
What We Collect
We collect very little. Specifically:
- Calculator inputs: The numbers you enter into the calculator (home price, down payment, interest rate, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. They are never sent to any server or stored anywhere. When you close the tab, they're gone.
- Contact form submissions: If you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, and message so we can respond to you. We don't share this with third parties or use it for marketing.
- Standard web analytics: We may use Google Analytics or a similar service to understand how visitors use the site (which pages are visited, how long people stay, what browser they're using, etc.). This data is aggregated and anonymous — we can't identify individual visitors from it.
Cookies
This site may use cookies in the following ways:
- Analytics cookies: If we use Google Analytics, it sets cookies to track session information. Google's privacy policy governs how that data is handled on their end.
- Advertising cookies: If this site displays Google AdSense ads, Google may set cookies to serve relevant ads based on your browsing history. You can opt out of personalized advertising through Google's Ad Settings.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings if you prefer. The calculator will still work fine without cookies.
Third-Party Advertising
This site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. Opting out means you may still see ads, but they won't be personalized to you.

This site may contain links to external websites (for example, government resources or lender sites). We're not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and this policy doesn't apply to them. It's worth checking their policies if you're concerned.
Children's Privacy
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe we've inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we'll delete it promptly.
Data Security
Since the calculator doesn't send your financial data anywhere, there's nothing to secure on our end. Contact form submissions are handled over HTTPS.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Because we collect so little, this mostly applies to contact form data. To exercise these rights, contact us and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.
Changes to This Policy
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top. We don't expect major changes since the site is intentionally minimal in its data collection.
